History

Chiropractic

1895 D.D.Palmer starts chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa, US
1897 the first school, Palmer School of Chiropractic opens
1905 Minnesota, the first state to recognize chiropractic
1907 Shegetaro Morikubo, the first Japanese chiropractor
1916 Saburo Kawaguchi introduces chiropractic at first in Japan
1939 Zurich, Switzerland, the first jurisdiction outside N. America
1944 FCER is established
1963 NBCE is established for state examining boards
1969 the first DC after WW II comes back to Japan
1974 CCE recognized by the government as the accrediting body
1987 chiropractors win at the Wilk vs AMA case
1988 WFC formed at World Chiropractic Congress in Sydney
1995 the first Japanese international standard chiropractic college opens
1997 WFC has affiliation with WHO as NGO
2005 WHO chiropractic education and practice guideline was released
